For Authors

Submit Manuscript

California Western International Law Journal is one of the oldest in the nation. We strive to publish provocative and thoughtful scholarship on a wide range of legal topics concerning international law.

Article Content
Articles should be timely and provide an original, in-depth analysis of a topic of interest, as opposed to a summary of previous research efforts. The Journal strives to provide a forum for a broad diversity of opinion.

Article Format and Length
All manuscripts should be submitted in English with text double-spaced. Footnotes must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed.). Authors should be prepared to supply any cited sources upon request. Although we will consider articles of any length, we generally accept submission of articles between 10,000 to 30,000 words.

Author Eligibility
We accept article submissions from practicing attorneys and legal scholars, as well as Ph.D. students. Current J.D. and LL.M. students at other schools are not eligible.

Submitting Articles
We request authors attach a résumé or CV to their submission. The title page should include the author’s full name, his or her academic/professional affiliations, and complete contact information for whom correspondence can be made. Manuscripts may be submitted via email in Microsoft Word. Allow margins of at least one inch on all sides of the typed pages.

Editorial Review Process
The California Western International Law Journal accepts submissions for its Fall publication during the months of April through August. For its Spring publication, submissions are accepted from August through December.
